I'm finally repairing my car. We can't afford it, but we can't afford to not have me working either.

It blows because I can't hit the job fair because my car will be in the shop during those hours and Genny will be home otherwise because it's conference week -- half days.

I'm calling the bank and begging them a little. It's just brutally difficult to be a human being in these economic times.

Could you pawn Genny off on a friend and take a cab to the job fair? Or get a ride? One thing I've discovered recently is that people like to be helpful if you're willing to ask for help. Good Luck!

I didn't have my car until nearly 3PM, so there wasn't time anyhow. I was bummed, but I had figured as much. It kind of irritates me though that they let Mike go the day AFTER the biggest job fair in the area.

Good to hear that you had the car repaired. It's very hard to move around without a car. Some people use the opportunity to find other ways of transport like scooters and bikes for short distances.
